In the diagrams below, we can see the total year-on-year growth for properties sales throughout Spain. We have broken down the growth from used properties and newly built properties across each region.
The total growth of properties sales across all regions is still on the rise. The Balearic Islands and Catalonia have seen the largest total growth in sales of more than 20%.
As we can see across all of Spain new build sales are decreasing as used property sales increase.
Notably, La Rioja experienced the largest decrease in sales of -21.34% in 2016. Larger autonomous communities of Spain also experience big decreases in new property sales such as Castile and León, Castile-La Mancha, Valencia & Murcia.
The communities which received the largest growth for new build sales are Galicia, Extremadura, the Balearic Islands and Aragon.
The Balearic Islands, Catalonia and Galicia experienced a huge increase in total sales of properties.
For Catalonia however, most sales are from used properties as growth from new properties remains low at 2.21%.
For the other communities used property sales were fairly high, Murcia with the lowest out of all the communities of a growth of 9.39%.
