Suspension of the opening of tourist accommodation to the public.

The suspension of the opening of tourist accommodation to the public was published in the Official State Gazette, the 19th of March.

Why is the tourist accommodation suspended?

The concentration of people in tourist accommodations, which must share certain common spaces, implies an increase in the risk of spreading the Coronavirus.

Therefore, and in order to contain this pandemic, it is necessary to suspend the opening of these establishments to the public.

Suspension of opening to the public of tourist accommodation establishments.

To establish the opening suspension to the public of hotels and similar accommodation, tourist and other short-stay accommodation, campsites, caravan parks and other similar establishments, located in any part of the national territory.

Exceptionally, the provision of surveillance, security and maintenance services in these establishments is permitted.

Long term and seasonal tourist accommodation establishments.

The opening to the public of those tourist accommodation is allowed for clients who were hosted in a steady long term basis when the State of Alarm was declared, as long as their occupants are able to carry out with their essential and necessary activities within those infrastructures and living spaces.

However, these establishments will not be allowed to admit new customers until the suspension is over.

 Closing process.

The closure shall take place when the establishment has no longer customers to attend and, in any case, within a maximum of seven calendar days from the 19th of March. Last day 25th of March.

Entry into force.

This order will enter into force on March 19, 2020

Validity.

This order will be applicable as of its publication in the “Official State Gazette” until the end of the declaration of the period of the state of alarm or extensions thereof.
